The Green river Lower Gorge. The gorge walls were sand stone. I caught a nice surf wave and inevitably spent some time upside down.

I took this picture to prove that I got a Caffe Vita top tube cozy.

Double Fist

Drew double fisting it with a Dead Guy Ale and a Stumptowm Panama Esmeralda batch #1. I had a cup of Esmeralda, it tasted like blueberry, like a glass of fruit loops.

We extended out our run into a section harder that I've done before. It was great. I flipped and rolled and crashed and punched.

The Double

Well, you can see this has a long way to go. In the past, you couldn't even tell what I was trying to do. Not bad for my first latte of the day!

On this day we had sunshine, pooring rain and hail.

We set up and practiced some T-rescues. This was right after I nailed a near perfect roll.

This is how outdoor guys prove to other outdoor guys that they're committed to a new activity. By blowing several hundred dollars on gear.

Mike on the Green, Headwoks. This was shortly after we all surfed a wave, which was awesome, my first surf.

Mike is great teacher. On this trip I was feeling a little squirrely. I got out twice. I need to relax. Some times when splashing through waves, I look up from my bow and Mike is facing backwards to rapid, talking to me.

Roll practice with Mike was really helpfully. A confidence booster for sure.
Tightening up my roll. Seems like I couldn't possibly practice too much.

Today I paddled the cedar river with friends and friends of friends. We started Landsburg and ended up in Maple Valley. The rapids not so tough (class II+) but, right of the start are some man made rapids with slalom gates.

This being my first time in a river, I flipped the kayak right away, rolled up, went down some more and found and eddy. My first combat roll was shortly followed by my second. Then later, a T-rescue and eventually I swam... at the take out.

We rounded out the day with home made pizza and sauna. Fantastic!

Latte art during shift is improving. It has reached the point of latte art while playing around with late art from a few months ago. These are all drinks I served this morning the one in the paper cup being soy. The trouble is, when I produce really good stuff, it's to busy for the camera. Still, you will see bubbles, inconsistency, asymmetry and generally it's just not quite there.

Having just successfully completed his fist two lead climbs, ever, Chipper seems annoyed by my insistence on taking lame self portraits.

Snoqualmie falls. I had a nice, misty, walk at the base of the falls.

Exit 32 climbing and a ridiculous grin.

The Dremel actually made short work of this heat sink issues...

The root FS of this media box will be on these redundant USB devices.

So we chopped it down and drilled some new holes in it.
